Rain gauge at Legacy Park
Rain gauge located near the volleyball court at the park

This rain gauge is one of seven maintained by the City of Greenville Engineering Department, providing weather data for specific areas, rivers and creeks, that when combined for all areas, provides important information for the City Engineering Department. According to the City, the gauge in Legacy Park was installed in 2017 and serves the most eastern portion of the City. It measures rainfall and supports analysis for water quality calculations, stormwater infrastructure, pollutant loads in waterways, and sanitary sewer evaluations. Data collections support immediate post-storm response (construction site management) in addition to identifying specific rainfall patterns supporting the planning for infrastructure strategies for the long term. Go to Vista Data Vision and log in to the system using the username “citypublic” and password “publicmonitoring” to review current rain gauge information.
